Aim:
To explore and promote understanding of LGBTQ+ experiences of faith in Wales.
Objectives:
- To collect a series of short personal reflections/testimonies from LGBTQ+ individuals.
- To develop a series of art prints to illustrate LGBTQ+ experiences of faith.
- To exhibit the reflections and art prints together: both physically, and online.
- To use the exhibition to promote understanding and dialogue about LGBTQ+ experiences of faith.
Reflections/Testimonies:
- Ask 10-20 individuals in Wales, who identify as Christians and LGBTQ+, to submit 100-250 words in English or Welsh, on as many of the following as they wish:
- ‘What I’ve learnt about identity, sexuality and love’
- ‘My faith journey/what faith means to me’
- ‘Being open and honest about my identity/sexuality and faith’
- ‘People who have supported and nourished my faith’
- ‘My favourite passage from scripture’
- ‘My hopes and dreams for the future’
- Aim for a good range of LGBTQ+ experiences, from different age groups and Christian denominations.
- Source participants by building relationships with different LGBTQ+ groups and churches.
- Produce an information sheet for participants, outlining how their reflections will be used, and how to keep in touch with the project as it develops. Participants can choose to sign reflections using either their real name, or a pseudonym. Option to submitting an accompanying photo of themselves.
- Reflections to be submitted by email – or noted down by hand if preferred.
